Emerson Lake & Palmer 'Tarkus' (1971) I can't write about a prog band and not include a side-long monsterpiece in the list. 1971's Tarkus LP is arguably ELP's finest, their most fully concentrated. If Nighthawks is any indication, Emerson was off to a good start as a film composer.... For that reason, I would highly recommend this album to fans of 70s soundtracks, as well as fans of Keith Emerson. There is a lot of good music on.

Keith Emerson died on 11 March 2016, bringing down the curtain on a career that saw him recognised as one of the greatest keyboard/synth players of all time. In the days after his death, Keyboard Magazine's Jerry Kovarsky assembled a collection of tributes to the great man - memories from friends, family, colleagues and musicians. Unfortunately, Keith Emerson (of ELP fame) has had to cancel his concerts and tours for the summer.... Keith was quite a showman and did may acrobatic moves, spinning around attached to the organ, flinging throwing knives at his Leslies, pushing the organs around on stage, many physical things that could have injured his wrists and nerves in. Keith Emerson played piano while spinning in the air end over end. I didn't have any expectations of their show being particularly exciting or visual (compared to.

Keith Emerson founded one of the most derided - and successful - rock acts ever.... like me spinning into space while playing the piano - without anyone working tapes or pulling strings behind. Let's just hope there's something else in the vault all fans can.
